It’s hard to believe, but two years have passed since we released our first comprehensive study of content leadership and teams. I’ve enjoyed seeing the study results inform your ideas, strategy, and planning—and raise new questions to investigate.

I’m delighted to announce we are repeating and expanding the study to cover content leadership and operations. Our goal is to understand

  • Changes since our last study.
  • More about the success factors for content leaders and team members.
  • More about the role of technology, data, and process in content operations success.

Methodology, you ask? You know I like to combine quantitative and qualitative methods! We’re doing that again here. We’re

  • Conducting a survey with at least 100 qualified content professionals and leaders.
  • Interviewing at least 10 content professionals and leaders.

Of course, this study can’t happen without you. We need your help. It starts with completing our survey, which takes about 10 minutes. And, at the end of the survey you have the option to agree to an interview.


As with our last study, we will make a summary of results available to you for free. The full, in-depth report will be available to Content Science Review subscribers and to survey participants who agree to a longer interview.
